  • Greenland Heritage Week at Thule Air Base

    Far above the Arctic circle, the small community at Thule Air Base holds an annual festival to celebrate the end of their long, dark winter and the arrival of spring. For more than 40 years, the men and women of the 821st Air Base Group have welcomed nearby Greenlanders to “Greenland Heritage Week,” a chance for everyone in Greenland’s far north to get together and share traditions, handicrafts, and meals during three days in April.

    Being a good Wingman is more than simply showing up to work and checking tasks off a list. It takes initiative, empathy and a willingness to care for fellow Airmen and Guardians to embody the Wingman culture.   • JTF-SD earns superior rating in security inspection

    U.S. Space Command conducted a security inspection April 6-8 and rated its component command, Joint Task Force-Space Defense, superior in their execution of special access program security protocols.
  • Schriever AFB engages in readiness exercise

    The Peterson-Schriever Garrison conducted a multi-day exercise with each day focusing on a different installation. On April 14, the exercise was staged at the 310th Space Wing headquarters and held to evaluate the response and effectiveness of Schriever AFB's emergency response agencies.
  • Enlisted trade boots for books, now serve Tampa community members

    TAMPA, Florida—U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Michael Jessup, 23rd Maintenance Operations Squadron, worked as a HC-130 maintenance instructor at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia when the Air Force announced a new program designed to boost numbers for its Nurse’s corps. The Nurse Enlisted Commissioning Program launched in 2007 is a two-part process.  The first-half is a paid-in-full bachelor-level education with a nursing degree. The second is a bid into the commissioned ranks of the Air Force. Jessup was one of the first 15 enlisted who was accepted into the program during its first year.
  • 50th FSS hosts Lieutenant Professional Enhancement Seminar

    The 50th Force Support Squadron hosted a Lieutenant Professional Enhancement Seminar at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado, March 9-11. This new course provides junior officers and civilians the opportunity to learn about leadership traits and qualities.

    A Peterson-Schriever Garrison noncommissioned officer was recognized by the American Red Cross of Colorado and Wyoming, March 20, 2021. Their quick response and thinking during a traumatic incident saved the life of a member of the local community in a Colorado Springs laundromat on March 8, 2020.
