50 FSS releases military-style charter school survey
Schriever and Peterson Air Force Bases are taking a survey to see if there is any interest in a military-style charter school among parents with school-age children. The survey is short but will provide us helpful information. The survey will close 5 p.m. Dec 9.

Schriever housing hosts women’s Bible study

Schriever lights Christmas Tree
The holiday season is right around the corner, and with that comes the annual base tradition to light the Christmas Tree. Please join us at 5 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Building 210 courtyard. Santa will make a special appearance and there will be cookies and hot chocolate for all. Bring the entire family. AFSPC/CV calls for max participation in safety survey
Maj. Gen. David Thompson has called for all Air Force Space Command personnel to participate in the ongoing Air Force Combined Mishap Reduction Survey. AFCMRS is a tool designed to tabulate anonymous, candid feedback regarding safety cultural trends, enabling leaders to identify risk factors within unit programs. EO career field open for retraining
The Equal Opportunity career field is looking for Airmen and NCOs wishing to join. EO is currently seeking approximately 20 first term Airmen between now and July 1, 2017, for retraining. Scheduling for NCO retraining will occur at a later date. Salvation Army needs Thanksgiving Day volunteers
The Salvation Army is hosting its annual Thanksgiving Day meal. They need volunteers to deliver meals and provide transportation to those who would like to have a meal at their facility (908 Yuma St.). We need 50 volunteers to cover the event from approximately 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. This is a great way to give back to the community and spend the holiday with your Air Force family. 50 SW seeks holiday party lip sync battle teams
Think you have what it takes to be the next lip sync sensation? Well here is your chance. We are now accepting entries for the Lip Sync Challenge going down at this year’s 50th Space Wing Holiday Party Dec. 2. We’re looking for four teams with up to five members to compete for the title of “50 SW Lip Sync Champion.” There is also going to be a final head-to-head competition with the winners taking home the grand prize. Academy cadet sponsor program looking for volunteers
The U.S. Air Force Academy is looking for volunteer sponsor families to build a professional mentoring relationship and provide a home-away-from-home for cadets. The program needs about 180 families to sponsor cadets. Sponsors must be at least O-3 for officers, E-6 for enlisted and GS-05 for civilian. The program is designed to provide new cadets mentorship, offering active-duty and retired military personnel and civilians in the community an opportunity to mentor cadets on a permanent basis for their time at the Academy.
