SAC learns karate basics

SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- The Schriever School Age Care program invited Irene Okuyama Andreassen, United States Karate Academy, to the program Friday to lead a karate lesson. Andreassen took approximately 12 youth, ages 5-12, through a routine that included various self-defense techniques, interspersed with speaking about the importance of focus and posture, as well as defending against bullies. The lesson focused on physical and cognitive development.
