SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- --
The Tierra Vista Community gathered with wing leadership for a town hall meeting April 24.
The town hall began with Lt. Col. Timothy Landis, 21st Medical Squadron commander, informing residents about RelayHealth system offerings. Additionally, he touched on the importance of utilizing the proper healthcare service.
“If you need to schedule appointments, contact your provider or refill prescriptions, please use TriCare online.com instead of Micare,” said Landis.
Stephanie Thien, Peterson, Schriever and Cheyenne Mountain Spouse’s Club president, briefed attendees on the results of the Kids Against Hunger food drive and thanked those who helped put together more than 40,000 bags of food for the program. Thien also highlighted upcoming club volunteer opportunities and events.
Sonny Adkins, Camp Shady Brook YMCA executive director, spoke on the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region’s “Camp Shady Brook.”
“What we want to give kids is an experience in the outdoors that encourages team building, community and outdoor skills,” Adkins said.
Colorado Military Academy Chairman Reggie Ash informed the community on the way forward for the charter academy.
According to Ash, the whole community is welcome. CMA has not started official advertisement yet, but the attention received from local news entities has generated great interest from the local community.
Additionally, the CMA commandant and director fielded questions and heard concerns from the community on what to expect when the school opens in August.
