Falcon Parkway repairs
Falcon Parkway will be reduced to single-lane access until Sept. 12. The traffic circle will be unaffected by construction. For more information, contact Staff Sgt. Marquis Williams at 567-4323.
2018 Green Dot Program refresher class registration
Annual Green Dot Refresher Classes occur 1 - 2 p.m. Tuesdays, and 8 - 9 a.m. Fridays in the Building 300 Auditorium. Voluntary Leave Transfer Program - Robert Bruce
Robert Bruce has been approved for the Voluntary Leave Transfer Program due to a current medical condition. If you would like to donate leave to him, you can complete the OPM 630-A, request to donate annual leave to leave recipient under the VLTP (within agency) http://www.opm.gov/FORMS/PDF_FILL/opm630a.pdf or https://www.opm.gov/forms/pdf_fill/opm630b.pdf (outside agency). Logistics planner retraining opportunities

Shred truck available at Schriever
The shred truck will be outside of the Restricted Area North Portal from 9 – 11 a.m. and outside of Building 210 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Aug. 15. Please bring items from your office or home for shredding. For more information, contact Senior Airman Bianca Alonzo at 567-6598.

AFSPC presents lecture series
The Air Force Space Command Lecture Series provides professional military education to our staff and to stimulate thought on various space related topics. Christopher Stone will be the next speaker to highlight the “Department of Defense Space Deterrent Concept.” The lecture will take place at the Building 1 auditorium at Peterson, Air Force Base, Colorado, 2:30 – 4 p.m. Aug. 15. All wing personnel are welcome to attend.
The 50th Space Wing Legal Office is closed daily from 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. The office will also be closed 7:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. every Thursday. If you have a deployment-related issue or need to contact a member of the staff, call 567-5050 for assistance.
Legal office court requirement

Schriever to honor Days of Remembrance
The Schriever Air Force Base Days of Remembrance, honoring all genocide victims, will be held Aug. 9 at 12 p.m. at the fitness center. Holocaust survivor, Oscar Sladek, will share his story and perform a symbolic balloon release to honor the lives of all genocide victims. Volunteers are needed for set-up and tear-down. Note: Walk-in services end at 3:30 p.m. Normal clinic hours are 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. For emergencies, call 911. For appointments, call 524-CARE.
MetroRides Vanpool provides openings
MetroRides Vanpool is a government subsidized program for all Department of Defense Civil Service employees and active duty military. There is no out of pocket expense for DoD vanpool participants. Contractors may also participate. The route starts at the Safeway shopping center parking lot in Fountain, Colorado, departing at 6:05 a.m. and arriving at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado, at 6:30 a.m. The vanpool departs Schriever AFB at 4 p.m. and arrives back at Safeway at 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. USAFA to hold SNCO Induction Ceremony
The Colorado Front Range Senior Noncommissioned Officer Induction Ceremony will take place at the Arnold Hall Ballroom at United States Air Force Academy, Colorado, Aug. 17. The medallion ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. and the ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. The guest speaker for the event will be Lt. Gen. Jay Silveria. TAPS to host Good Grief Camp
The Tragedy Assistance Program will host a Good Grief Camp Sept. 8 – 9 in Denver, Colorado. Children are able to share and learn coping skills through games, crafts and other activities in a fun and supportive environment. Each child is paired with a military mentor who reminds the child that he or she is still a part of the military community. Mentors need to be available 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. Sept. 8 and 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sept. 9. Lodging accommodations are available for those who reside more than 45 miles from the event. All meals are provided Sept. 8 and breakfast and lunch will be provided Sept. 9. If you have any questions about how you can volunteer, contact Melissa Hermosillo at 915-780-3344. Noncommissioned Officer Association recruitment
The Noncommissioned Officer Association Air Academy Chapter is recruiting. It's a great opportunity to meet former chiefs and make a difference in the community. Meetings occur every third Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Palmer Room at The Club at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. Society of Military Widows holds meeting
The Society of Military Widows is open to widows of any branch of military service, regardless of the spouse’s rank. The Pikes Peak Chapter 15 of the Society of Military Widows meets on the last Wednesday of the month, 10:30 a.m. at The Club at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. Military Retirees Activities Office
The Military Retiree Activities Office holds its monthly council meeting the second Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at The Club at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. The meeting will be followed by lunch at 12:45 p.m. The guest speaker for Aug. 9 will be Troy Pring to discuss the function of dispatch health. USAFA to host Farish Recreation Area Walk
The United States Air Force Academy Outdoor Recreation Center and the Falcon Wanderers Walking Club invite you to the Farish Recreation Area Walk Sept. 22. The walk will start at the Conference Center at 12005 Rampart Range Road, Woodland Park. This event is free and open to the public. Register to walk any time between 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. with a finish time by 3 pm. Large-wheeled strollers can complete the courses with difficulty, but wheelchairs are not recommended.
