Schriever Base Shuttle Service
Schriever is operating a base shuttle service on a trial basis through Nov. 15. The shuttle will operate in a loop with six stops to help Team Schriever personnel get to activities such as medical appointments, briefings, meetings and unit physical training at the fitness center. The shuttle operates 9:15 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday, excluding holidays, family days and base closures. Stops include:
- North restricted area portal
- 50th Space Wing Headquarters/medical clinic
- Fitness center
- 310th SW Headquarters
- U.S. Air Force Warfare Center
- West restricted area portal
During the trial period, only one shuttle bus will operate in the restricted area. Questions may be directed to Terrence Galloway, 50th Logistics Readiness Flight, at 567-7212.
Trunk or Treat: Friday
The chaplain’s office is scheduled to host a trunk-or-treat 4:30 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Tierra Vista Community Center front parking lot. This event is open to the entire Schriever community. Please bring a non-perishable item to donate to the local Ellicott community; donation is not required to attend. For more information, please call the chapel at 567-3705.
National Cybersecurity Awareness Month
The 50th Space Wing Cybersecurity Office is scheduled to host a presentation highlighting this year’s theme for National Cybersecurity Awareness Month – “Own IT. Secure IT. Protect IT.”
9-11 a.m. Friday at Building 210, Room 310.

50th Space Wing Quarterly Promotion Ceremony
The 50th Space Wing is scheduled to host a promotion ceremony at 3 p.m. Oct. 31 in the Schriever fitness center.

Turkey Trot: Nov. 22
The Schriever Air Force Base 18th Annual Turkey Trot 2.5 mile run is scheduled 3 p.m. Nov. 22. Free T-shirts will be given to the first 100 finishers and prizes will be awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers. Registration is not required. Arrive no later than 2:45 p.m. to sign-in and for pre-race instructions. The race will start near the batting cages just north of the running track.

Required Annual Training: Sexual Assault and Suicide Prevention Awareness
Time is running out to complete required annual training for sexual assault and suicide prevention awareness. Federal Employee Health, Benefits Open Season: Nov. 11-Dec. 19
The Schriever Civilian Personnel office is scheduled to host a health information fair 9-10 a.m. Nov. 6 in the building 210 atrium on Schriever Air Force Base, to help civilian employees prepare for the federal employee health benefits open season. Knowledge Management Center Provides Training
The Knowledge Management Center provides recurring classes for knowledge management programs. The following classes are offered the first and third Thursday of the month in Building 301, Room 119:
- Records Management: 12-1:30 p.m.
- Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act: 1:45 - 3:15 p.m.
- Publications and Forms class: 1-3 p.m. (every third Thursday of the month)

Military Retirees Activities Office
The Military Retiree Activity Office hosts a monthly meeting for all military retirees and their spouses on the second Thursday of every month at 11:30 a.m. The next meeting is scheduled for Nov. 14 at the Peterson Air Force Base Club. The guest speaker is Kent Matthews from the Pikes Peak Area Agency on Aging.
The Society of Military Widows
The Society of Military Widows is open to widows of any branch of military service, regardless of the spouse’s rank. The Pikes Peak Chapter 15 of the Society of Military Widows meets at 10:30 a.m. on the last Wednesday of the month at the Peterson AFB Club, Colorado. For more information, call 331-6689 or 260-8172.
