Base Promotion Ceremony 
As a reminder, the March promotion recognition ceremony is 3 p.m. Wednesday in the base fitness center. Come out and support your unit's promotees.

Society opens door to military widows 
The Society of Military Widows is open to widows of any branch of military service, regardless of the spouse's rank. The Pikes Peak Chapter 15 of the Society of Military Widows meets on the last Wednesday of the month at 10:30 a.m. at the Peterson Air Force Base Club. DIY marriage retreat 
The Schriever Chapel will sponsor a free marriage retreat June 24-26 at the Denver Marriot Tech Center, hosted by the DIY Marriage Experience. Spots are limited; first come, first served. April 1 is the final day to register. Contact your chapel to register at 567-3705.

Air Force Assistance Fund is underway
The Air Force Enlisted Village is one of four Air Force Assistance Fund charities. The AFEV's mission is to provide a home for surviving spouses of our retired enlisted Air Force heroes and to mothers of current active duty and retired Airmen. The AFEV gives Air Force families a safe, secure home; treats them with the dignity and respect we reserve for our own moms; and cares for them into their golden years. The 2016 Air Force Assistance Fund runs through until April 29.  Contact your unit AFAF representative to contribute.


Housing offers family Christian fellowship
Family Bible study is 6:30 - 8 p.m. every Wednesday at the Tierra Vista Community Center. Come join us for inspiring worship, Bible study and prayer. Families are welcome. Childcare and separate activities for 10 and under are provided. For more information, call 567-3705.

Schriever Women's Bible Study
The women's Bible study is 9:30 - 11 a.m. every Tuesday at the Tierra Vista Community Center. There will be fellowship, Bible study and conversations about today's critical issues from a Christian perspective. For more information, call the chapel at 567-3705.

Off Base

Military Retirees Activities Office holds monthly luncheon 
The Military Retiree Activities office holds a luncheon at noon the second Thursday of each month at the Peterson Air Force Base club, followed by its monthly council meeting at 2:30 p.m. in Building 350, Room 1206. The guest speaker for April 14 will be Kathy Clinton from Morning Star Retirement Living. Call 556-7153 for more information.


50 SW command chief hosts enlisted call
Chief Master Sgt. John Bentivegna, 50th Space Wing command chief, will host his wing enlisted call 1 p.m. April 7 in the Schriever Fitness Center. Event topics include Enlisted Force Distribution Panel, promotions and feedback.

Academy instructors teach Schriever leadership seminar
The U.S. Air Force Academy's Behavior Science and Leadership Department has agreed to offer their four-part "Being a Professional" series at Schriever AFB. This seminar aims for a transformational experience by taking leadership theories and applying them to each participant's daily professional/personal lives through reflection, dialogue and exercises. This seminar aligns with the Air Force Chief of Staff's emphasis on character and leadership development.

Part 1 - April 12 (11 a.m. - 1 p.m.): Building 210, Room 310 (FSS classroom)
Part 2 - April 20 (11 a.m. - 1 p.m.): Building 210, Room 310 (FSS classroom)
Part 3 - April 27 (11 a.m. - 1 p.m.): Building 210, Room 310 (FSS classroom)
Part 4 - May 3 (11 a.m. - 1 p.m.): Building 210, Room 310A (computer lab)

Before signing up for the seminar, check your calendar to ensure your availability for the entire series.

This series is open to all personnel (enlisted, officers, civilian, etc.); diversity is encouraged. There are 25 slots available; first come, first served.  Attendees are encouraged to bring a lunch.

The vision is to offer this series two to four times a year at Schriever.  Lt. Col. Richard Ramsey, an Academy instructor, will lead this series the first time, but we are looking for volunteers who are interested in leading future series.  If interested, please plan on attending this first seminar and sticking around after each session.  Ramsey will discuss the material further and explain his techniques to make the series a transformational experience.

Van Pool seeks passengers
A Schriever van pool is looking for additional riders.  The van leaves from the Albertson's parking lot on Union and Research at 5:45 a.m. and will arrive at Schriever Air Force Base around 6:15 a.m.  The van will leave Schriever at 3:30 p.m. and get back to Albertson's around 4:15 p.m. This is a great way to save wear and tear on your car, save money and relax on the way to/from work.  If interested, contact Herb Hipple at 567-0285.
