Air Force Assistance Fund kicks off
The 2016 Air Force Assistance Fund is ongoing until April 29. The Air Force Aid Society is one of the four AFAF charities. The AFAS provides loans, grants and offers community programs. The bundles for babies programs offer classes and a bundle of bedding and necessities to assist parents welcoming their new family member. The AFAS also provides spouse employment training, car care while the military member is deployed and offers an opportunity for dependents to earn educational grants through the youth employment skills program. Air Force offers summer internship program
Schriever will be participating in the Air Force Pathways Summer Internship Program May 31-Sept. 30. Students at least 16 years of age attending high school or enrolled/accepted for enrollment in college may apply. Housing offers family Christian fellowship
Family Bible study is 6:30 - 8 p.m. every Wednesday at the Tierra Vista Community Center. Come join us for inspiring worship, Bible study and prayer. Families are welcome. Childcare and separate kids activities for 10 and under are provided. For more information, call 567-3705.

Society opens door to military widows
The Society of Military Widows is open to widows of any branch of military service, regardless of the spouse's rank. The Pikes Peak Chapter 15 of the Society of Military Widows meets on the last Wednesday of the month at 10:30 a.m. at the Peterson Air Force Base Club. Call 597-0492 or 591-9523 for more information.
Military Retirees Activities Office holds monthly luncheon
The Military Retiree Activities office holds a luncheon at noon the second Thursday of each month at the Peterson Air Force Base club, followed by its monthly council meeting at 2:30 p.m. in Building 350, Room 1206. Chief Master Sgt. John Bentivegna, 50th Space Wing command chief, will host his wing enlisted call 1 p.m. April 7 in the Schriever Fitness Center. Topics of the event include Enlisted Force Distribution Panel, promotions and feedback.
Van Pool seeks passengers
A Schriever van pool is looking for additional riders. The van leaves from the Albertson's parking lot on Union and Research at 5:45 a.m. and will arrive at Schriever Air Force Base around 6:15 a.m. The van will leave Schriever at 3:30 p.m. and get back to Albertson's around 4:15 p.m. This is a great way to save wear and tear on your car, save money and relax on the way to/from work.
