Air Force Assistance Fund kicks off
The 2016 Air Force Assistance Fund is ongoing until April 29.  The Air Force Aid Society is one of the four AFAF charities. The AFAS provides loans, grants and offers community programs. The bundles for babies programs offer classes and a bundle of bedding and necessities to assist parents welcoming their new family member. The AFAS also provides spouse employment training, car care while the military member is deployed and offers an opportunity for dependents to earn educational grants through the youth employment skills program. Contact your unit representatives for more information.

Air Force offers summer internship program
Schriever will be participating in the Air Force Pathways Summer Internship Program May 31-Sept. 30.  Students at least 16 years of age attending high school or enrolled/accepted for enrollment in college may apply.  Students must apply on www.usajobs.gov, keyword search: 1648708 (Clerk) or 1649948 (Laborer). Housing offers family Christian fellowship
Family Bible study is 6:30 - 8 p.m. every Wednesday at the Tierra Vista Community Center. Come join us for inspiring worship, Bible study and prayer. Families are welcome. Childcare and separate kids activities for 10 and under are provided. For more information, call 567-3705.

Schriever Women's Bible Study
The women's Bible study is 9:30 - 11 a.m. every Tuesday at the Tierra Vista Community Center. There will be fellowship, Bible study and conversations about today's critical issues from a Christian perspective. For more information, call the chapel at 567-3705.

Join the community Easter sunrise service
The Schriever Chapel will host a community Easter sunrise service 6:30 a.m. March 27 at the baseball field behind Tierra Vista Community Center. Join us for an inspiring Easter service and breakfast to follow. For more information, contact the chapel at 567-3705.

Chapel sponsors marriage retreat 
The Schriever Chapel is sponsoring a free marriage care retreat April 8-10, with location to be determined. This is first come, first served. Contact your chapel to register at 567-3705.

Do it yourself marriage retreat 
The Schriever Chapel will sponsor a free marriage retreat June 24-26 at the Denver Marriot Tech Center, hosted by the DIY Marriage Experience. Spots are limited; first come, first served. April 1 is the final day to register. Contact your chapel to register at 567-3705.  

Off Base

Society opens door to military widows 
The Society of Military Widows is open to widows of any branch of military service, regardless of the spouse's rank. The Pikes Peak Chapter 15 of the Society of Military Widows meets on the last Wednesday of the month at 10:30 a.m. at the Peterson Air Force Base Club. Military Retirees Activities Office holds monthly luncheon 
The Military Retiree Activities office holds a luncheon at noon the second Thursday of each month at the Peterson Air Force Base club, followed by its monthly council meeting at 2:30 p.m. in Building 350, Room 1206. The guest speaker for April 14 will be Kathy Clinton from Morning Star Retirement Living. Call 556-7153 for more information.

VFW Post 4051 helps veterans 
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4051 would like to remind eligible members to join and help other veterans, their families and their communities. Active duty, Reserve and Guard members who meet eligibility requirements (e.g., member has served in Iraq, Afghanistan, Korean Service, Global War on Terrorism among others) are highly encouraged to join. 50 SW command chief hosts enlisted call
Chief Master Sgt. John Bentivegna, 50th Space Wing command chief, will host his wing enlisted call 1 p.m. April 7 in the Schriever Fitness Center. Topics of the event include Enlisted Force Distribution Panel, promotions and feedback.

Transportation

Van Pool seeks passengers
A Schriever van pool is looking for additional riders.  The van leaves from the Albertson's parking lot on Union and Research at 5:45 a.m. and will arrive at Schriever Air Force Base around 6:15 a.m.  The van will leave Schriever at 3:30 p.m. and get back to Albertson's around 4:15 p.m. This is a great way to save wear and tear on your car, save money and relax on the way to/from work. If interested contact Herb Hipple at 567-0285.

Fitness

Play floorball
The Schriever Fitness Center gymnasium is open for floorball (floor hockey) 5-6 p.m. Thursdays. All equipment is supplied.  If you are interested in participating, contact Senior Airman Jeremy Binz at 567-5239 or Tech. Sgt. Jonathan Wander at  556-4179.
