This Week

Staff and Family Tour [cancelled]: March 18  
Due to a low number of registrants, the Schriever Air Force Base Staff and Family Tour has been cancelled. The next tour will be June 20. For more information, call the Public Affairs Office at 567-5040.

Air Force Assistance Fund kicks off
The 2016 Air Force Assistance Fund begins Monday and ends, April 29.  Last Year, Team Schriever obtained almost $23,000 in loans and grants in emergency assistance through the Air Force Aid Society. Let's help replenish the funds Team Schriever utilized while also considering contributing to one of the other organizations. Military members and retirees, be on the look out for your squadron representative for the opportunity to donate to the Air Force Aide Society, the LeMay Foundation, The Air Force Enlisted Village or the Air Force Villages.

Housing offers family Christian fellowship
Family Bible study is 6:30 - 8 p.m. every Wednesday at the Tierra Vista Community Center. Come join us for inspiring worship, Bible study and prayer. Families are welcome. Schriever Women's Bible Study
The women's Bible study is 9:30 - 11 a.m. every Tuesday at the Tierra Vista Community Center. There will be fellowship, Bible study and conversations about today's critical issues from a Christian perspective. For more information, call the chapel at 567-3705 or email 50SWHC_Workflow@us.af.mil.

Join the community Easter sunrise service
The Schriever Chapel will host a community Easter sunrise service 6:30 a.m. March 27 at the baseball field behind Tierra Vista Community Center. The Schriever Chapel is sponsoring a free marriage care retreat April 8-10 at Horn Creek Camp, Westcliffe, Colorado. This is first come, first served. Contact your chapel to register at 567-3705 or 50SWHC_Workflow@us.af.mil.

Do it yourself marriage retreat 
The Schriever Chapel will sponsor a free marriage retreat June 24-26 at the Denver Marriot Tech Center, hosted by the DIY Marriage Experience. Spots are limited; first come, first served. Society opens door to military widows 
The Society of Military Widows is open to widows of any branch of military service, regardless of the spouse's rank. The Pikes Peak Chapter 15 of the Society of Military Widows meets on the last Wednesday of the month at 10:30 a.m. at the Peterson Air Force Base Club. Military Retirees Activities Office holds monthly luncheon 
The Military Retiree Activities office holds a luncheon at noon the second Thursday of each month at the Peterson Air Force Base Club, followed by its monthly council meeting at 2:30 p.m. in Building 350, Room 1206. The guest speaker for April 14 will be Kathy Clinton from Morning Star Retirement Living. Call 719-556-7153 for more information.

SAFB invited to Total Force Leadership Development Program
A Total Force Leadership Development Program will be held 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. March 23 in the Building 210 FTAC classroom. All Schriever AFB personnel are welcome. This program will deliver practical leadership lessons to the total force of Schriever Air Force Base using John Maxwell's award winning leadership curriculum via a facilitator. Transportation

Van Pool seeks passengers
A Schriever van pool is looking for additional riders.  The van leaves from from the Albertson's parking lot on Union and Research at 5:45 a.m. and will arrive at Schriever Air Force Base around 6:15 a.m.  The van will leave Schriever at 3:30 p.m. and get back to Albertson's around 4:15 p.m.  This is a great way to save wear and tear on your car, save money and relax on the way to/from work.  If interested contact Herb Hipple at 567-0285.
