50 SW commander holds development team feedback

Col DeAnna M. Burt, 50th Space Wing commander, is hosting a development team feedback for all Schriever 13S officers 9-10:30 a.m. Feb. 2 in the Building 300 auditorium. DCS link will be available for geographically separated units. 

Wing features annual awards banquet
The 50th Space Wing hosts the annual awards banquet Feb. 5 at the Peterson Air Force Base club. Medallion ceremony is at 5 p.m., with cocktail hour at 6 p.m. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Dress code is mess dress or semi-formal for military and formal or black tie for civilians.

Housing offers family Christian fellowship
The Schriever Housing Family Christian Fellowship will consist of inspiring worship, Bible study and prayer 6:30-8 p.m. every Wednesday at the Tierra Vista Community Center. White House Communication Agency visits Schriever
The White House Communication Agency is visiting Team Schriever 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at the First Term Airman Center in Building 210, Room 310. The agency is committed to recruiting the best and the brightest.  Members assigned to WHCA will provide direct service to our mission in Washington, D.C., or on a travel team in support of the president, vice president, first lady and others as directed. Sports and Fitness

Wanted: Dedicated players for base softball team
The Schriever varsity softball team is looking for dedicated players for the upcoming season. If interested, tryouts will be held 4 p.m. Feb. 15, 16 and 17 at the base softball field.  There will also be a tryout 11 a.m. Feb. 20 for those who cannot make it during the week.  Please contact Master Sgt. HAWC offers dietary services
The Health and Wellness Center offer dietary services every Thursday in Building 500 in the restricted area. Individuals may meet with the registered dietitian for medical nutrition therapy in a variety of disease states, weight loss, pre/post natal, pediatric, sports nutrition and more. The HAWC also offers Bod Pod Body Fat Assessment that estimates body fat and resting metabolic rate.  Tests last approximately 10-15 minutes.  To schedule an appointment, contact Tiffany Brunton at 556-5787.

Get informed about social networking security. Many spammers make fake profiles and take advantage of the large amount of personal information others freely reveal. Orbital Harmony to hold auditions
The Schriever choir performance group Orbital Harmony will be conducting auditions to fill vacant spots for the summer 2016 performance season. All positions are currently open (soprano, alto, tenor and bass). Any experience level is welcome. Auditions will be conducted by appointment at the Schriever Fitness Center temporary building. Participation in the choir can be used towards qualification for the Air Force Volunteer Ribbon. For more details or to schedule an audition, please contact Allen Vickrey at 721-9280.

Chapel

Chapel sponsors women's Bible study
The Schriever Chapel sponsors a women's Bible study 9:30-11 a.m. every Tuesday in the Tierra Vista conference room. "The Lies Women Believe and The Truth that Sets them Free" by Nancy Leigh DeMoss is the current book of choice the group will go through together and study, along with the Bible. Off Base

Society opens door to military widows  
The Society of Military Widows is open to widows of any branch of military service, regardless of the spouse's rank. The Pikes Peak Chapter 15 of the Society of Military Widows will meet at 10:30 a.m. on the last Wednesday of the month at the Peterson Air Force Base club. Retiree luncheon talks about challenges
The Military Retiree and Spouses Activities offices will host a luncheon noon Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, in the Peterson Air Force Base club. Kevin Gilmartin will speak on the Federal Long-Term Care Insurance Program and how it is helping the growing number of caregivers who are facing the challenges of an aging U.S. population. You do not need to be a club member to attend.  Please call the Retiree Activities Office at 556-7153 by Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, to make reservations.
