Chick-Fil-A food truck comes to Schriever 
Schriever personnel can enjoy lunch from Chick-Fil-A Wednesdays beginning today from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in both the Building 210 atrium and the north portal entrance. The menu includes Chick-fil-A sandwiches, spicy sandwiches, waffle kettle chips, medium fruit cups, bottled soda, bottled water and cookies.


Online cyber security conference-Cyber warfare and security
There will be an online conference on cyber warfare and security for the Department of Defense this morning at 8 a.m. in the Building 300 auditorium. This online forum will discuss cyber warfare and how it is affecting day-to-day operations, as well as how leaders in cyber space are working to combat it. This conference will bring insights and technologies from cyber experts as they discuss the latest strategies on critical cyber operations. Attending this forum is worth four CPE, but you must register at http://events.carahsoft.com/event-detail/4340/cs2/.

Schriever First Sergeant Council pizza, bowling party
The Schriever First Sergeant Council will host a free pizza and bowling party for all 50th Space Wing leadership and dorm residents Friday from 2-4 p.m. at Peterson Bowling Center. Squadron commanders will captain a four Airman team. If you would like to attend, please RSVP through your First Sergeant.

Colorado Springs Veterans Day parade
Please come and join the 50th Space Wing as we march in the 16th annual Colorado Springs Veterans Day parade. This year's theme is, "The Military Family-It Takes a Team." The Colorado Veterans Day parade proceeds south on Tejon Street, starting at Saint Vrain Street and ending at Vermijo Avenue Saturday, at 10 a.m. For those participating in the parade,  showtime is 8:30 a.m. in the designated staging area. Anyone interested in participating, please see your group representatives.

Air Force vs. Army ticket competition 
The Air Force Academy is holding a competition across Colorado Springs to determine which base can sell the most tickets to the Air Force vs. Army game. Use the promo code: SCHRIEVER when you pay via: www.goairforcefalcons.com.

21st, 50th Space Wings Air Force football tailgate
The 21st and 50th Space Wings will host a tailgate at 10 a.m. Saturday for all associated personnel and their families at Falcon Stadium for the Air Force vs. Army football game. There will be free food and drinks, as well as games and a dessert competition. The tailgate will be located at the northwest corner of parking area #4, space 7. Briefings/Trainings

AFOSI foreign travel briefing
The Air Force Office of Special Investigations is hosting a foreign travel briefing at 10:30 a.m. every Tuesday in Building 210, Suite 245. Any member, who is unable to attend the designated travel brief dates, will be required to have a signed Memorandum For Record from their commander prior to AFOSI scheduling a separate brief.

Chapel

Chapel hosts Schriever Women's Bible Study 
The Schriever Chapel will sponsor the Schriever Women's Bible Study in the Tierra Vista Conference Room, every Tuesday 9:30 - 11 a.m. "The lies women believe and the truth that sets them free" by Nancy Leigh DeMoss is the current book of choice the group will review, along with the Bible. Housing offers bible study 
The Schriever Housing Family Christian Fellowship will consist of worship, Bible study and prayer 6:30-8 p.m. every Wednesday at Tierra Vista Community Center. Closings/Construction

North Vehicle Entrapment area closure
The North Vehicle Entrapment area will be closed from Sunday to Nov. 14, due to construction. Please plan accordingly and utilize the West Vehicle Entrapment area.

Limited Legal Services
The legal office will not have legal assistance walk-ins during the week of Nov. 16-20. Call the front desk at 567-5050 with any questions.

Community Engagement

Schriever hosts Staff, Family Tour 
Schriever Air Force Base personnel and their family members are invited on a Staff and Family Tour Nov. 13 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Space is limited. If interested, call the Public Affairs Office at 567-5040 to sign up. The deadline to sign up for the tour is close of business Monday.

Ellicott Veterans Day celebration 
Ellicott school district invites you to share in their Veterans Day celebration at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at 375 S. Ellicott Highway, Ellicott High School gymnasium. Doors will open and registration will begin at 2 p.m. The district will recognize the veterans and active duty military in attendance for their service. If you are a veteran or active duty military and would like to be recognized, please RSVP by emailing your name, rank, branch of service and years of service to Cindy Chambers or call  683-2700.

Salvation Army is seeking volunteers this Thanksgiving 
This year, the Salvation Army will be providing more than 1,500 meals to the elderly and less fortunate within the Colorado Springs community. There are two ways you can help support this endeavor through volunteerism: meal delivery and/or transportation. We are asking volunteers to deliver meals to senior citizens with limited mobility and less fortunate with no means of transportation. We also need volunteers to offer rides to those who would like to eat a "sit down" meal at the Salvation Army facility. We need approximately 50 drivers for meal delivery and 30-50 for transportation. Dry Cleaning Express service available 
The dry cleaning drop box at the Schriever Shoppette is available.  Drop off for Monday is 6 a.m. - 2 p.m. and pick up is Thursday any time after 3 p.m.  Drop off for Thursday is 6 a.m. - 2.p.m. and pick up is Monday any time after 3 p.m. The concessionaire will pick up and drop off between 2 and 2:30 p.m. both days.

Fitness Center Floorball (Floor hockey)

Normal clinic hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
The clinic closes Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. for unit PT.
The clinic closes at 11 a.m. the second Wednesday of each month for training.

Did you know you can obtain your primary care at Schriever clinic? All TRICARE Prime beneficiaries are eligible to enroll at the clinic! If you work on Schriever, receiving care at the clinic is convenient and accessible. Need medications? The pharmacy wait time is five minutes or less. Complete your MiCare-RelayHealth registration
The 50th Space Wing's goal is to have 100 percent active duty enrolled in MiCare. The Schriever Clinic sent email invitations to all personnel's government accounts who are enrolled at the clinic. Please respond to this invitation. Registration takes less than a minute. MiCare-RelayHealth is a Department of Defense secure messaging system. Connect with your provider so you can stay informed of your health and wellness. Did you know that MiCare-RelayHealth is also open to dependents? Children under 18 may be enrolled under a parent. Happy Holidays Team Schriever 
The 50th Space Wing Holiday party planning committee is happy to announce the 50th Space Wing's Annual Holiday party! It will be held 5-7 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Peterson Air Force Base Club. Tickets will be on sale throughout November, in front of the Satellite Dish, in Building 210 Atrium or contact your friendly squadron or group ticket sales representative.

There will be games, dancing, prizes, lip-sync battles and performances by the United States Air Force Academy Rock Band, "Blue Steel!" Dress is business casual, tie optional and dress jeans are acceptable as long as they are not ripped or torn etc.

Society opens door to military widows 
The Society of Military Widows is open to widows of any branch of military service, regardless of the spouse's rank. The Pikes Peak Chapter 15 of the Society of Military Widows meets at 10:30 a.m. the last Wednesday of the month at the Peterson Air Force Base Club. Military Retirees Activities Office holds luncheon 
The Military Retiree Activities office holds a luncheon at noon the second Thursday of each month at the Peterson Air Force Base Club, followed by its monthly council meeting at 2:30 p.m. in Building 350, Room 1206. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4051

Safety Tip
A "Delta-V," or a change in velocity, is a term referring to orbital maneuvers often used for the purposes of collision avoidance. Likewise in mishap prevention, it is everyone's responsibility to be the "Delta-V" when necessary to avoid injury, illness or property damage. Report all mishaps... Identify all hazards... Crime Prevention Tip
When observing an aggressive driver who is putting other motorists at risk, pull over to the side of the road to utilize your cellular, or hands free device while on the installation, and contact local Security Forces, Colorado Highway Patrol or El Paso County as soon as possible. Be prepared to provide the following information: vehicle description, license plate number, location and direction of travel, driver description and the aggressive driving behavior being demonstrated. Transportation
Save Money - No Cost to you - Ride A Vanpool - Falcon
Is the wear and tear of commuting taking a bite out of your car and your wallet? Is driving causing too much stress? Take advantage of a vanpool! The government provides $130 per rider per month to pay for the commuter van. Department of Defense civilians and active duty military personnel receive a government mass transit benefit to offset commuting costs. Some companies may also offer mass transit benefits. So join our vanpool.

Vanpool seats available at:
Falcon Wal-Mart (Woodmen and Meridian Market View Road): The van departs 6:25 a.m. weekdays and arrives at Schriever AFB at 6:55 a.m. At the end of the duty day, the van departs Schriever AFB at 4:10 p.m. and arrives at Falcon Wal-Mart 4:40 p.m.  Drop off and pickup points on Schriever AFB may vary.
