Schriever Can Food Drive
Your First Sergeant Diamond Council is leading the charge for the Schriever "Canned" Food Drive. This food drive is to help do our part for the seventh annual "Feds Feed Families" Food Drive Campaign started this summer. Last year the Federal employees, as a whole, contributed over 14.8 million pounds of food for this drive. To help make this year a success, we are asking for everyone's help to collect canned and non-perishable food items for our local Care and Share Food Bank. In 2014, Schriever came in second place in all of AFSPC; this year we have set a goal to reach 3000 pounds, and a hopeful first place, of non-perishable items donated by 31 Aug 2015. Items can be donated in one of three ways: First way, is to bring in any of the items on the list below and drop them off at one of the donation
locations. The second way, is to go to http://vad.aidmatrix.org/vadxml.cfm?driveid=40340 and follow the onscreen instructions to select the food items you want to donate. These electronic donations will then go straight to our food drive. The third way, is to bring canned food items to the July & August Wing Fun Runs and drop them off in the marked bins. Everyone who brings at least two canned food items for this run, will be authorized to wear appropriate civilian PT gear. So let's do our part and make the Schriever "Canned" Food Drive a huge success. Highly Needed Items include canned food, fruits, meat, cereal and oatmeal. The donation locations North Portal Entrance, West Portal Entrance, Atrium Bldg 210, Fitness Center, Tierra Vista Community Center and your First Sergeant's Office.

TSA Pre check procedure update
UPDATE December 2014: U.S. Air Force Academy cadets can now use Pre✓™ as well. As part of an intelligence-driven, risk-based approach to security, the Transportation Security Administration now offers Pre✓™ expedited screening to all members of the U.S. military, including reservists and National Guard members, DOD civilians, and cadets. TSA had expanded its Trusted Traveler program, known as TSA Pre✓™, to over 100 airports. TSA Pre✓™ allows participants to keep on their shoes, belt, and light jacket, and leave laptops and 3-1-1 compliant liquids in their carry-on bags when going through airport security. Unlike the military, DoD civilians must opt-in to the program through the MilConnect website. For more information, please see this Defense Travel Management Office article: TSO Pre✓™ Program for DOD Personnel. For additional information, please check out the TSA Pre✓™ website.
