SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- FSS hosts the 2015 Children's Spring Fling
The 50th Force Support Squadron is hosting the 2015 Children's Spring Fling 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 28 at the Schriever Fitness Center.  Children are encouraged to dress as their favorite storybook character and enjoy games, prizes and eat lunch.  This entire event is free and open to all Schriever personnel.  Come on out and enjoy an event for the whole family.  For more information, call 567-5464.

PA holds staff, family tour
The 50th Space Wing Public Affairs office is holding a staff tour 9-11 a.m. March 27 with lunch at the Satellite Dish dining facility till noon. We will be visiting 50th Operations Squadron, 50th Network Operations Group and 50th Mission Support Group units. If interested, email 50SWPA.workflow@us.af.mil. Deadline is March 24 or until all slots are filled.

Military Retirees Activities Office hosts monthly luncheon
The Military Retiree Activities office holds a luncheon at noon the second Thursday of each month at the Peterson Air Force Base club, followed by its monthly council meeting at 2:30 p.m. in Building 350, Room 1206.

Society opens doors to military widows
The Society of Military Widows is open to widows of any branch of military service, regardless of the spouses rank. The Pikes Peak Chapter 15 of the Society of Military Widows meets on the last Wednesday of the month at 10:30 a.m. at the Peterson Air Force Base club. KEEP training for civilian supervisors
The Knowledge Enhanced Employee Program was created by the Schriever Civilian Personnel Office in order to provide training and resources to all supervisors of civilian employees. The next class will be held 8 a.m. to noon March 27 in Building 210, Room 310.  Please contact Maggie Wander at 567-4014 or maggie.wander@us.af.mil if you would like to attend.

Save money, ride a vanpool
Save gas money. Government provides $130 per rider per month to pay for commuter van.  Department of Defense civilians and uniformed military personnel are eligible.  Space is available that originates from Falcon Walmart (Woodmen and Meridian Market View Road). The van departs 6:25 a.m. weekdays and arrives at Schriever 6:55 a.m. At the end of the duty day, the van departs Schriever at 4:10 p.m. and arrives at Falcon Walmart 4:40 p.m.  Drop off and pickup points on Schriever may vary. A&FRC offers federal employment workshop
The Schriever Airman and Family Readiness Center and the Schriever AFB Civilian Personnel Office team up to bring you the steps you need to know in your process of applying for federal employment. It is helpful to become familiar with www.usajobs.gov before coming to the class. The class is 9-10:30 a.m. March 26 at the A&FRC, Building 101. Please call 567-3920 to sign up.

Pre-deployment Briefing
The Pre-Deployment Briefing is for deployers who are 30-60 days away from departure date. Many of the agencies on the Outprocessing Checklist will brief. This is a one-stop shop for outprocessing for deployment. The class will be held 8 - 10 a.m. Apr. 1, 2015 at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. Please call 567-3920 to sign up.

A&FRC provides pre-separation counseling briefing
The Airman and Family Readiness Center will host a pre-separation counseling briefing 8 to 10 a.m. March 31. This is the first step to separating or retiring from the military and the briefing is mandatory. Discussion will include registering for e-benefits, beginning an individual transition plan and the benefits and services available when you leave the military. Documentation of this briefing is accomplished through the completion of Department of Defense Form 2648. If you are a year from separation or two years from retirement, start the process. Call the A&FRC at 567-3920 to sign up.

Heartlink
The A&FRC will host Heartlink 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 2. Newly married spouses with learn the mission of the Air Force and the base and become familiar with available resources and educate them on their benefits.  This class is for spouses who have been a military spouse for less than 5 years and especially new to Schriever AFB.  Briefings include, Tricare, Protocol, Finance, Legal and the Medical Group; participants will be treated to lunch as well as a tour of some facilities inside of the restricted area.  Please contact Kendra or Cheryl at 567-3920 to sign up

The Civvies of Networking coming to the Airman and Family Center
The Airman & Family Readiness Center is hosting, "The Civvies of Networking", 3 April from 9 - 11 a.m..  Between 60 and 90 % of jobs of are found through networking with friends, relatives, personal contacts, and professional organizations. Networking involves developing your contacts and connecting with people. If done well, it may lessen your job search time and turn personal contacts into interviews and, hopefully, job offers.  Speakers form local networking groups will be presenting information on the importance of networking and how to market yourself at networking events and provide tips

Fitness center closes for Spring Fling
The Schriever Fitness Center basketball court and the aerobics room will be closed 7 a.m. March 26 to 5 p.m. March 28.  The entire fitness center, including 24-hour access, will be closed 7:30 p.m. March26 to 5 p.m.  March28. For more information, contact the fitness center at 567-6628.

Free National Parks Passes
The National Parks Service will be at the fitness center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Apr. 10, 2015 issuing free parks passes.  The passes allow the cardholder and their families' free access to over 240 national parks across the country as well as discounted services like camping, equipment rental, etc.  Active Duty, Reservists and anyone with a 10% or greater disability is eligible. 2015 AF Pathways Summer Internship Program
