WEATHER ALERT: Phased Early Release Jan. 12

SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Due to inclement weather conditions, the 50 SW/CC has directed Schriever to close for the day and implement phased early release for non-mission essential personnel. Schriever members should not report to the base until the following day, after checking for the latest update. Weather safety conditions vary widely across the area, so individuals with specific commuting concerns should contact their leadership for a risk management assessment. If duty status is changed, information will be updated on the Schriever Air Force Base's Facebook page, local radio and TV stations and the Snow Call line at 567-SNOW (7669).

Many areas are red due to extremely limited visibility and icy conditions please exercise extreme caution.

2 p.m. -- Areas 1,2, and 5 are released
2:30 p.m. -- Areas 3,4, and 6 are released
3 p.m. -- Areas 7 and 8 are released
