SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- "Safety is a very important aspect of my job. Many of the systems I am responsible for maintaining come with several hazards. Working with large satellite communications systems, there are several risks and dangers, such as falling, pinch points, electrical hazards, exposure to heavy machinery, and hazardous chemicals. Safety is very important to me because you never know when something is going to happen when so many hazards are present. You should always be prepared. The two person concept is very important as well; maintenance is never done alone."
