/ Published September 17, 2014
SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Release Number: 140901
Schriever Air Force Base emergency responders and a local life flight crew will conduct a medical evacuation capability exercise from 9:30-11:15 a.m. Sept. 18 and 19 at the base soccer field.
The purpose of this training is for the aircrew to practice landing and launching medical helicopters at Schriever Air Force Base and to familiarize emergency responders with the aircraft and responders' mission and capabilities.
During the annual exercise, Schriever emergency personnel will respond to a simulated medical situation that will require responders to request an immediate medical evacuation from the installation to a local hospital.
"We are grateful for these opportunities to not only strengthen our response efforts but also the relationship with our community partners," said Col. Bill Liquori, 50th Space Wing commander.
