General court-martial convicts officer

SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- A 3rd Space Operations Squadron officer was convicted by a general court-martial July 22, at Schriever Air Force Base, Colo. on charges of assault and communicating a threat.
Capt. Anthony Alvarado was found guilty of six incidents of assault and one incident of threatening to commit an assault, all against a former fiancé.
The general court-martial convicted Alvarado and sentenced him to six months confinement and a dismissal from the service, an officer's equivalent of a dishonorable discharge. He is currently serving his jail sentence in the Teller County Confinement Facility.

The 50th Space Wing Legal Office reminds Airmen that assault and communicating a threat are both illegal and punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
