SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- 50 NOG to hold change of command ceremony
The 50th Network Operations Group is holding a change of command ceremony 9 a.m. May 28 at the 50th Space Wing Headquarters. Lt. Col. Jason Sutton will assume command of the 50 NOG from Col. Jonathan Sutherland. A reception will follow inside the headquarters atrium. The dress code will be uniform of the day for military personnel and business attire for civilians. 50 CPTS releases monthly financial management newsletter

The monthly promotion recognition ceremony for June promotees is 3 p.m. May 30 at the Schriever Fitness Center. Please come out and support your unit's promotees.

Think outside the trash, recycle
Did you know the average amount of waste generated in the United States is 4.40 pounds per person per day? Help reduce the amount of waste you generate each day by participating in the Schriever Air Force Base recycling program. Participation is easy. Just place rinsed or scraped plastics (No. 1-7, including No. 6 food containers and cups), metal cans and aluminum foil, glass bottles and jars, newspaper and magazines, cardboard, brown paper bags, phone books, and shredded and mixed paper all in the same recycling container.

Schriever offer KEEP training for civilian supervisors
The Schriever Civilian Personnel Office is offering a Knowledge Enhanced Employee Program class for supervisors of civilian employees. The class will cover topics such as filling positions, disciplinary actions, time and attendance, 971 files and awards. The next class will be held 8 a.m. to noon May 29 in Building 210 Room 310. To sign up for this class, please contact civilian personnel at 567-4014.

Basketball court closed May 30
The basketball court at the Schriever Fitness Center will be closed from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 30 in support of the 50th Space Wing promotion ceremony. For more information, please call the fitness center at 567-6628.

In-service recruiting holds Palace Front, Palace Chase
Palace Chase and Palace Front briefings are held 10 a.m. each Wednesday in Building 26 (310th Space Wing Headquarters), Suite 106 (subject to change if TDY). If you are interested in information about the Air Force Reserve Palace Front or Palace Chase Programs, please contact your Air Force Reserve in-service recruiter, Master Sgt. Matthew Laney at 567-4494. His office is located in Building 26 Suite 144. This building is outside the restricted area next to the Irwin Road gate entrance.

Reduce your stress, improve your sleep
Are you waking up tired? Feeling unrefreshed or unrested? Having difficulties falling or staying asleep at night? Want a better night of sleep? Nationally, one-third of the population experiences occasional sleep problems, yet only 10 percent of sleep problems are caused from medical conditions. The remainders of sleep problems are caused by things we can control. Attend the sleep enhancement class to find out how. Next class is noon May 21 at the Health and Wellness Center in Building 500. Legal assistance website saves time
You may fill out an online worksheet prior to your visit to the legal officefor expedited service. Worksheet topics include wills, advance medical directives and powers of attorney. No legal documents can be printed from this website. Please visit the Schriever legal office to obtain your document. Only Air Force legal offices have access to the data you enter here, and the data you enter is deleted after 90 days. Please bring your ticket number with you. Legal office personnel will not be able to access your worksheet without the ticket number. Visit https://aflegalassistance.law.af.mil.

Military Retiree Activities holds meetings
The Military Retiree Activities office holds a luncheon at noon the second Thursday of each month at the Peterson Club, followed by its monthly council meeting at 2:30 p.m. in Building 350, Room 1206. The guest speaker on June 12 will be Melanie Gormley, who will speak about the U.S. Air Force Academy Housing Office offering housing to military retirees.
