SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- 21 MDS closed May 13
The 21st Medical Squadron will be closed May 13 for services due to medical readiness training. The clinic will resume all services 7:30 a.m. May 14.

LinkedIn class coming to A&FRC
The Schriever Airman and Family Readiness Center will host a LinkedIn class 9-11 a.m. May 21 in Building 101. A top priority resource for any job seeker, LinkedIn is the world's largest online professional network with millions of members. A&FRC provides pre-separation counseling briefing
The Airman and Family Readiness Center is hosting a pre-separation counseling briefing 8-10 a.m. May 20. This is the first step to separate or retire from the military and the briefing is mandatory. This briefing will cover registering for e-benefits, beginning an individual transition plan and learning about the benefits and services available when you leave the military. Documentation of this briefing is accomplished through the completion of DD Form 2648. If you are a year from separation or two years from retirement, start the process. A&FRC holds Right Start briefing
The Airman and Family Readiness Center will be conducting a Right Start brief 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 15 in the Building 300 auditorium. Newcomers to Schriever must attend this brief, which is specifically geared toward newly arrived military personnel, Department of Defense civilians and their families. Spouses are invited; but the sponsoring member must obtain a visitors pass at Pass and ID and provide escort duties. For information or to sign up, contact the A&FRC at 567-3920 or

Borrow household items from Schriever's Loan Locker
The Schriever Airman and Family Readiness Center maintains a loan locker full of household items for those who are going through permanent change of station and find themselves in need of dishes, pots and pans, futons, car seats, strollers and many other essentials. These may be borrowed while waiting for the household goods to arrive or after the household goods have been packed out to the new location. Call the A&FRC at 567-3920 for more information.

Intramural softball coaches hold meeting

Schriever to host Rocky Mountain volleyball tournament
Schriever will host this year's Rocky Mountain volleyball tournament. Teams from Schriever, Peterson, and Buckley Air Force Bases, U.S. Air Force Academy and Fort Carson will attend. The date is set for May 17. For more information, please call Ed Molloy at 567-6672.

Buy Elitch Gardens tickets at ITT

Circus comes to town

Free Sky Sox vouchers available
The Colorado Sky Sox military appreciation games continue 6:35 p.m. May 22. Free vouchers are available on a first come, first served basis at the Schriever Fitness Center, Outdoor Recreation and Wizards Brew Coffee Shop. Vouchers must be redeemed at the Sky Sox Box office prior to the day of the game to ensure seating is still available. For more information on the vouchers, please call 567-3588.

In-service recruiting holds Palace Front, Palace Chase
Palace Chase and Palace Front briefings are held 10 a.m. each Wednesday in Building 26 (310th Space Wing Headquarters), Suite 106 (subject to change if TDY). If you are interested in information about the Air Force Reserve Palace Front or Palace Chase Programs, please contact your Air Force Reserve in-service recruiter, Master Sgt. Matthew Laney at 567-4494. His office is located in Building 26 Suite 144. This building is outside the restricted area next to the Irwin Road gate entrance.

50 SW issues malicious call trace procedures
The malicious call trace procedures have been revised to address harassing, prank, bomb threat or other type calls because the base telephone switch can perform customer oriented traces using *57. If you receive one of these calls, please follow these instructions: 1. Hang up the telephone; 2. Using the same telephone, dial *57; 3. Hang up the telephone; 4. Dial 911 and report the incident. Call tracing is now complete, as of April 9. Unit telephone control officers will provide further local dissemination. 50 SW holds combined Wingman, SAPR down day
The Wingman Day and Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Down Day is an opportunity to focus on the Air Force core values. Wingman ready to step in with excellence and integrity help ensure a culture and environment free from sexual assault. The 50th Space Wing commander will host a commander's call 2:30 p.m. May 12 at the Schriever Fitness Center to kick off the week. Denver Broncos Chaplain Chip Simmons will speak on resiliency 1 p.m. May 13 at the fitness center. On Wednesday at 3 p.m., you will have an opportunity to work on the physical pillar of Comprehensive Airman Fitness during the Warfit Run. Small group sessions will run throughout the week. Academy looks for Cadet Sponsor Program volunteers
The U.S. Air Force Academy Class of 2018 is due to arrive June 26. We are looking for volunteer sponsor families to build a professional mentoring relationship and provide a home-away-from-home for the cadets. Eligible sponsors are O-3 and above; E-6 and above; GS-05 and above. Cadets are scheduled to meet their sponsors at the Doolie Day Out event at the Academy July 19. The deadline to sign up for the Doolie Day Out event is July 3. You may also sign up for academic year sponsorship if unable to participate in this one-day event.
