SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- 50 SW leadership holds civilian lunch
All Schriever Department of the Air Force Civilian Employees are invited to attend a lunch with Col. William Liquori, 50th Space Wing commander, Col. William Rittershaus, 50 SW vice commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Lavon Coles, 50 SW command chief. It will be held noon May 6, in the southeast corner (reserved area) of the Satellite Dish dining facility. Experimental Aircraft Association holds open house
The Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 72 is holding an open house 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 24 at Meadow Lake Airport in Falcon, Colo. Join them for this free family fun event. Learn about Meadow Lake Airport and flight opportunities for adults and youth, such as Young Eagles. Privately-owned airplanes will be flying and on display with people available to answer questions. Sky Sox kicks off military appreciation games
The Colorado Sky Sox is kicking off its military appreciation games 6:35 p.m. May 2. Free vouchers are available on a first come, first served basis at the Schriever Fitness Center, Outdoor Recreation and Wizards Brew Coffee Shop. Borrow household items from Schriever's Loan Locker
The Schriever Airman and Family Readiness Center maintains a loan locker full of household items for those who are in the process of permanent change of station and find themselves in need of dishes, pots and pans, futons, car seats, strollers and many other essentials. These may be borrowed while waiting for the household goods to arrive or after the household goods have been packed out to the new location. Call the A&FRC at 567-3920 for more information.
A&FRC provides pre-separation counseling briefing
The Airman and Family Readiness Center provides a mandatory pre-separation counseling briefing 8-10 a.m. May 6. This is the first step to separating or retiring from the military. This briefing will cover registering for e-benefits, starting an individual transition plan and learning about the benefits and services available when you leave the military. Documentation of this briefing is accomplished through the completion of DD 2648. If you are a year from separation or two years from retirement, start the process. Call 567-3920 to sign up.
Learn how to write a résumé
A résumé writing class is available 9-11 a.m. April 25 at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. Learn what's new, what's now and what's next in resume formats and processes, how to best present yourself, structure and format for career change, cover letters and more. It is helpful, but not necessary, to have a basic résumé already written. Call 567-3920 to sign up.
A&FRC holds senior TAP
The Airman and Family Readiness Center will host a Senior Transition Assistance Program class for E-8, E-9 and O-5 and above April 28-May 2. The five-day workshop for retiring senior enlisted and senior officers and their spouses will cover topics on the executive job search and résumé. The financial section will focus on investing and preparing for retirement and the many benefits available through the Veterans Affairs. Please call 567-3920 to register.

Wing staff agencies closures
The following 50th Space Wing staff agencies will be closed or at an alternate duty location for an official event April 25:
- The 50th Comptroller Squadron will be closed at 1 p.m.
- The History office and Voting Assistance office will be closed at noon. However, the Heritage Room will remain open for a promotion ceremony.
- The Chaplain office will only be available through telephone. Call 567-2181 and ask for the on-call Chaplain member.
- The Program Management Directorate will be at an alternate duty location from 1-3 p.m. Call Mike Walker at 229-6304 during that time.
