SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- 50 SW leadership holds civilian lunch
Col. Bill Liquori, 50th Space Wing commander, Col. Bill Rittershaus, 50 SW vice commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Lavon Coles, 50 SW command chief, are holding a government-civilian lunch noon on May 6 in the Satellite Dish dining facility. This event will be held on a quarterly basis, and all GS employees are invited to attend. This will be an informal opportunity for GS personnel to meet and dialogue with senior leadership. Heartlink provides Air Force familiarization to newly married spouses
Heartlink is a class that was designed to provide newly married spouses with information on the Air Force and Schriever mission as well as help them be familiar with available resources and benefits. This class is for spouses who have been a military spouse for less than five years and especially new to Schriever AFB. Briefings include TRICARE, protocol, finance, legal and the medical group; participants will be treated to lunch as well as a tour of some facilities inside of the restricted area. Borrow household items from Schriever Loan Locker
The Schriever Airman and Family Readiness Center maintains a loan locker full of household items for those who are PCSing and find themselves in need of dishes, pots and pans, futons, car seats, strollers and many other essentials. These may be borrowed while waiting for the household goods to arrive or after the household goods have been packed out to the new location. Call the A&FRC at 567-3920 for more information.

A&FRC provides pre-separation counseling briefing
The Airman and Family Readiness Center is hosting a pre-separation counseling briefing 8-10 a.m. April 22. This is the first step to separating or retiring from the military and the briefing is mandatory. This briefing will cover registering for e-benefits, starting an individual transition plan and learning about the benefits and services available when you leave the military. Documentation of this briefing is accomplished through the completion of DD 2648. If you are a year from separation or two years from retirement, start the process. Learn how to write a résumé
A résumé writing class is available 9-11 a.m. April 25 at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. Learn what's new, what's now and what's next in resume formats and processes, how to best present yourself, structure and format for career change, cover letters and more. It is helpful, but not necessary, to have a basic résumé already written. Call the Airman and Family Readiness Center at 567-3920 to sign up.

A&FRC holds senior TAP
The Airman and Family Readiness Center will host a Senior Transition Assistance Program class for E-8, E-9 and O-5 and above April 28-May 2. The five-day workshop for retiring senior enlisted and senior officers and their spouses will cover topics on the executive job search and résumé. The financial section will focus on investing and preparing for retirement and the many benefits available through the Veterans Affairs. Please call 567-3920 to register.

Civvies of Networking comes to A&FRC
The Airman and Family Readiness Center is hosting a Civvies of Networking class 9-11 a.m. April 23. Between 60 and 90 percent of jobs are found through networking with friends, relatives, personal contacts and professional organizations. Networking involves developing your contacts and connecting with people. It may lessen your job search time and turn personal contacts into interviews and, hopefully, job offers. Speakers from local networking groups will be presenting information on the importance of networking and how to market yourself at networking events.

ITT sells Colorado Rapids tickets
Buy your tickets for the home soccer club. The Colorado Rapids soccer season has begun, and discounted tickets for the 2014 season can be purchased at the Outdoor Recreation and Information Travel and Tickets office. Tickets are available for all areas and sections for every home game. Stop by the office for pricing or to purchase tickets or call Tanya 567-6050 for more questions.

Colorado Rapids hold military appreciation night
The Colorado Rapids is hosting its Military Appreciation night 7 p.m. May 3. Buy your discounted tickets at the Outdoor Recreation and Information Travel and Tickets office now, and watch the Rapids take on the L.A. Galaxy. Ticket prices are $20 and $25.

Sky Sox holds military appreciation games
The Colorado Sky Sox Military Appreciation Games are kicking off 6:35 p.m. May 2. Free vouchers are available on a first come, first served basis at the Schriever Fitness Center, Outdoor Recreation and at the Wizards Brew Coffee Shop. Vouchers must be redeemed at the Sky Sox Box Office prior to the day of the game to ensure that seating is still available. For more information on the vouchers, please call 567-3588

SARC, fitness center hold SAAM activities
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Sexual assault is a crime with devastating effects and can only be stopped when everyone understands we all have a role in combating it. The Schriever Fitness Center and Sexual Assault Response Coordinator are hosting two events to provide Schriever members an opportunity to raise awareness and show their support against sexual assault. The first event will be a Kids Color Run at 3 p.m. and adult run 3:15 p.m. April 18 at the Schriever Fitness Center. Participants are encouraged to dress up in fun colors. No registration necessary.

Chapel holds Good Friday service

Grant provides child support assistance
A federal grant for Colorado assists service members with child support and related issues. El Paso County Child Support Services provides assistance to parents provided at least one parent is active duty. A representative will be at Schriever AFB on 1-3 p.m. April 28at the 50th Space Wing Legal office to assist service members and their families. Legal assistance website saves time
You may fill out an online worksheet prior to your visit to the legal office for expedited service. Worksheet topics include wills, advance medical directives and powers of attorney. No legal documents can be printed from this website. Please visit the Schriever legal office to obtain your document. Only Air Force legal offices have access to the data you enter here, and the data you enter is deleted after 90 days. Please bring your ticket number with you. Legal office personnel will not be able to access your worksheet without the ticket number. Visit for more information.

TVC holds town hall meeting  
Tierra Vista Communities will host its quarterly town hall meeting 5:30 p.m. April 24 at the Community Center. Discussion items include Community Enrichment Council, spring yard care/water restrictions, Century Link dish install, utility billing/conservation, community support information and review scheduled community events for May, June and July. This is to remind you that if you receive any demand, subpoena or any court order, requesting you to produce, disclose or release official Air Force information or to testify or appear as witness in any nonmilitary judicial proceedings, please contact 50th Space Wing Judge Advocate office immediately. In addition, you are required to send to the 50 SW/SJA any writ, summons, notice of legal proceedings or other foreign civil process delivered to an Air Force officer, employee or activity immediately on receipt.
