SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Schriever Express undergoes maintenance
The Schriever Express will be performing upgrade maintenance 6:30-9 p.m. April 16. All actions at the pumps will be disabled for the upgrades. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Circuit Actions at 567-4644 or You may also contact Sharon Grant at 567-4430.

A&FRC offers Bundles for Babies
The next Bundles for Babies class will be held 2-4:30 p.m. April 9 at the Airman and Family Readiness Center (Building 101). Active-duty Air Force and Department of Defense civilian personnel and spouses who are awaiting the birth of a child are eligible for a free bundle of baby items worth over $60. Hosted by the Air Force Aid Society, this class includes such topics as the financial aspects of raising a child, how to maintain couple hood when children enter the picture and ways of dealing with the stresses of having a new baby. Give parents a break
The Child Development Center offers respite care to referred active-duty Air Force families courtesy of the Air Force Aid Society on one Saturday morning or late afternoon each month. The next session will be held from 2-7 p.m. April 12. A voucher is required to register, which eligible families may obtain through the Airman and Family Readiness Center, commander, first sergeant or chaplain. Schriever holds Heartlink class
Heartlink is a class that will provide newly married spouses with information on the mission of the Air Force and the base as well as to familiarize them with available resources and educate them on their benefits. This class is for spouses who have been a military spouse for less than five years and especially new to Schriever. Briefings include TRICARE, protocol, finance, legal and the medical clinic. Participants will be treated to lunch as well as a tour of some facilities inside of the restricted area. Please call 567-3920 to sign up for the April 24 class.

Borrow household items from loan locker
The Schriever Airman and Family Readiness Center maintains a loan locker full of household items for those who are going through permanent change of station processes and find themselves in need of dishes, pots, pans, futons, car seats, strollers and many other essentials. These may be borrowed while waiting for the household goods to arrive or after the household goods have been packed out to the new location. Call the A&FRC at 567-3920 for more information.

A&FRC provides pre-separation counseling briefing
The Airman and Family Readiness Center is hosting a pre-separation counseling briefing 2-4 p.m. April 10. This is the first step to separating or retiring from the military and the briefing is mandatory. This briefing will cover registering for e-benefits, beginning an individual transition plan and learning about the benefits and services available when you leave the military. Documentation of this briefing is accomplished through the completion of DD 2648. If you are a year from separation or two years from retirement, start the process. A&FRC holds Right Start briefing
The Airman and Family Readiness Center will be conducting a Right Start brief 8 a.m.- 3 p.m. April 17 in the Building 300 auditorium. Newcomers to Schriever must attend this brief, which is specifically geared towards newly arrived military personnel, Department of Defense civilians and their families. Spouses are invited; but the sponsoring member must obtain a visitors pass at Pass and ID and provide escort duties. For information or to sign up, contact the A&FRC at 567-3920 or

A&FRC offers TRICARE for Retirees class
The Airman and Family Readiness Center will host a TRICARE for Retirees briefing 9-11 a.m. April 10. This is an overview of Survivor Benefit Plan and TRICARE benefits. Discussion will include the difference between TRICARE Prime and TRICARE STandard, what needs to be accomplished if relocating or children are going to college in a different location and so much more. 1. Complete the OPM 630-A, Request to Donate Annual Leave to Leave Recipient Under the VLTP (within agency) or (outside agency)

Schriever Fitness Center closes April 11-12
The basketball court and aerobics room at the Schriever Fitness Center will be closed April 10. The entire fitness center will be closed April 11-12 in support of the Children's Spring Fling. For more information, please call the fitness center at 567-6628.

Chapel, holds marriage enrichment day retreat
You do maintenance on your car and home so why not your marriage? This one-day seminar is a free revitalization retreat designed for couples of any faith to strengthen their bond. Whether your relationship is young or old, weak or strong, or you are trying to decide whether to get married, you are welcome to join us. The event is held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 17 at Meridian Ranch Family YMCA and is sponsored by the Colorado Healthy Marriage Project in partnership with the Schriever Chapel. Partake in Passover Seder
The Passover Seder is a Jewish ritual feast that marks the beginning of the Jewish holiday of Passover. All faiths are welcome to come partake of this Jewish feast retelling the story of the liberation of the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt. The event will be held 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 15 in the Chapel Resource Room in Building 300, Room 146. The Seder meal and Haggadah will be provided for the first 10 individuals who register. Legal assistance website saves time
You may fill out an online worksheet prior to your visit to the legal office for expedited service. Worksheet topics include wills, advance medical directives and powers of attorney. No legal documents can be printed from this website; please visit the Schriever Legal office to obtain your document. Only Air Force legal offices have access to the data you enter here, and the data you enter is deleted after 90 days. Please bring your ticket number with you. Legal office personnel will not be able to to access your worksheet without the ticket number. For more information, visit  

Legal notice to Schriever military, civilian personnel
This is to remind you that if you receive any demand, subpoena or any court order, requesting you to produce, disclose or release official Air Force information or to testify or appear as witness in any nonmilitary judicial proceedings, please contact 50th Space Wing Staff Judge Advocate office immediately. In addition, you are required to send to the 50 SW/SJA any writ, summons, notice of legal proceedings or other foreign civil process delivered to an Air Force officer, employee or activity immediately on receipt. Schriever VITA volunteers offer free assistance
Schriever Volunteer Income Tax Assistance representatives are now available to provide free help in filing your taxes. The program is for military members and their families, both active duty and retirees. The representatives are trained and certified by the Internal Revenue Service.
