Base holds promotion ceremony

ODR/ITT offers free ski pass vouchers
There is a limited quantity of free lift pass vouchers to Steamboat Springs available for anyone with a valid military identification card at Outdoor Recreation and Information Travel and Tickets and the Schriever Fitness Center. Tickets are available on a first come first served basis with a limit of two per customer, and must be used on the first or second weekend in April. Ticket vouchers will only be redeemable for any guest with a valid military card at the ticket counter at Steamboat Springs. Please contact ODR/ITT at 567-6050 or the fitness center at 567-6628 to check on availability.

Schriever observes Sexual Assault Awareness Month
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Sexual assault is a crime with devastating effects and can only be stopped when everyone understands we all have a role in combating it. The Schriever Fitness Center and Sexual Assault Response Coordinator office are hosting two exciting events to provide Schriever members an opportunity to raise awareness and show their support against sexual assault. The first event will be a Color Run held 3 p.m. April 4 at the Schriever Fitness Center running path. There will be a Kids Run and an Adult Run. Participants are encouraged to dress up in fun colors. No registration necessary.

Reserve holds Palace Front, Palace Chase briefings
Palace Chase and Palace Front briefings are held 10 a.m. each Wednesday at in Building 26(310th Space Wing Headquarters), Suite 106 (subject to change if TDY). Chapel, holds marriage enrichment day retreat
You do maintenance on your car and home so why not your marriage? This one-day seminar is a free revitalization retreat designed for couples of any faith to strengthen their bond. Whether your relationship is young or old, weak or strong, or you are trying to decide whether to get married, you are welcome to join us. The event is held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 17 at Meridian Ranch Family YMCA and is sponsored by the Colorado Healthy Marriage Project in partnership with the Schriever Chapel. Save money, ride a vanpool
Save gas money. The government provides $130 per rider per month to pay for commuter van. Department of Defense civilians and uniformed military personnel are eligible. Space is available. It originates from Falcon Wal-Mart (Woodmen and Meridian Market View Road). The van departs 6:25 a.m. weekdays and arrives at Schriever 6:55 a.m. At the end of the duty day, the van departs Schriever AFB at 4:10 p.m. and arrives at Falcon Wal-Mart 4:40 p.m. Drop off and pickup points on Schriever AFB may vary. Grant provides child support assistance to service members
A federal grant for Colorado will assist service members with child support and related issues. El Paso County Child Support Services will provide assistance to parents provided at least one parent is active duty. A representative will be at Schriever 1-3 p.m. March 31 at the 50th Space Wing Legal office to assist service members and their families. Peterson, DEA hold drug take back day
Peterson will partner with the Drug Enforcement Agency to sponsor a Drug Take Back Day 10 a.m. April 26 in the West Gate (Visitor's Center) parking lot at Peterson Air Force Base. All medications, to include controlled substances, liquids, supplements and over-the-counter medications will be accepted for safe disposal, no questions asked. Syringes and needles will not be accepted. Make your home a safer place and protect the environment. Drop off your unwanted, unused, and expired medications. Legal assistance website saves time
You may fill out an online worksheet prior to your visit to the legal office for expedited service. Worksheet topics include wills, advance medical directives, and powers of attorney. No legal documents can be printed from this website - please visit the SAFB Legal office to obtain your document. Only Air Force legal offices have access to the data you enter here, and the data you enter is deleted after 90 days. Please bring your ticket number with you. Legal office personnel will not be able to access your worksheet without the ticket number. Visit for more information.

Schriever VITA volunteers offer free assistance
Schriever Volunteer Income Tax Assistance representatives are now available to provide free help in filing your taxes. The program is for military members and their families, both active duty and retirees. The representatives are trained and certified by the Internal Revenue Service.
