SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Junior Achievement looking for volunteers for Ellicott High School
Junior Achievement is looking for volunteers for Ellicott High School with enthusiasm, life experience, and a willingness to teach children about how they took chances and how to shoot for the stars. Junior Achievement provides the training, curriculum, and a classroom ready to meet the volunteer. They are a local non-profit, providing volunteer-delivered, kindergarten-12th grade programs which foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy skills. The commitment could vary from a single school day to a weekly visit of one hour each for seven weeks. Most teachers request a volunteer visit once per week for seven lessons. AFA hosts 2014 Air Force Ball

The 2014 Air Force Ball will take place 6-11:30 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Broadmoor Hotel. To purchase tickets, visit Air Force Association website at www.afasijan.com. For additional information and the menu, click on "More Info / Menu" link on the website. The Broadmoor is also offering rooms at $145 for those attending the ball. Ticket sales close Feb. 5. Recycling Working Group looking for members
Are you passionate about recycling? The recycling program manager is seeking new members for the Recycling Working Group. The Recycling Working Group will meet 10 a.m. Feb. 4 in the Building 500 conference room. A second meeting will be held Feb. 11 for those who are unable to attend the first meeting. A&FRC helps Airmen transition from dorm to off-base living
The dorm move class is geared toward all Airmen anticipating moving out of the dorms within six months to a year. This class will teach Airmen how to identify how much money is needed to afford to live off base, how to project a budget based on monthly expenditures and how to decide if the individual is financially fit to move out of the dorms. The class will be held 2-3:30 p.m. Feb. 5 at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. Please call 567-3920 to sign up.

A&FRC provides pre-separation counseling briefing
The Airman and Family Readiness Center will host a pre-separation counseling briefing 2-4 p.m. Jan. 30 and Feb. 4. This is the first step to separating or retiring from the military and the briefing is mandatory. Discussion will include registering for e-benefits, beginning an individual transition plan and the benefits and services available when you leave the military. Documentation of this briefing is accomplished through the completion of Department of Defense Form 2648. If you are a year from separation or two years from retirement, start the process. Call the A&FRC at 567-3920 to sign up.

A&FRC offers TRICARE for Retirees briefing
The Airman and Family Readiness Center will host TRICARE for Retirees briefing 9-11 a.m. Feb. 6. This is an overview of Survivor Benefit Plan and TRICARE benefits. Discussion will include the difference between TRICARE Prime and TRICARE Standard, what needs to be accomplished if relocating or children are going to college in a different location and so much more. Call the A&FRC at 567-3920 to sign up.

Customize your T-shirts
Add your squadron emblem to basic T-shirts. Shirts are available in white, grey, light blue, sand, yellow and orange. The shirts are100 percent spun polyester. For more information, contact the Award and Engraving at 567-6050.

Framing, Engraving changes hours

Colorado Avalanche holds military appreciation night
March 2 is this year's installment of the Colorado Avalanche Military Appreciation night. Buy your discounted tickets at the Outdoor Recreation and Information Travel and Tickets office now. Watch the Avalanche take on the Tampa Bay Lightning 6 p.m. March 2. Ticket prices are $20 and $40.

In-service recruiter holds Palace Front or Palace Chase briefing
Palace Chase and Palace Front briefings are held 10 a.m. Wednesdays in Building 26 (310th Space Wing Headquarters) Suite 106 (subject to change if TDY). If you are interested in information about the Air Force Reserve Palace Front or Palace Chase Programs, please contact your Air Force Reserve In-Service Recruiter, Master Sgt. Matthew Laney at 567-4494. He is located in Building 26 Suite 144. This building is outside the RA next to the Irwin Road Gate entrance.

Legal assistance website saves time
You may fill out an online worksheet prior to your visit to the legal office for expedited service. Worksheet topics include wills, advance medical directives, and powers of attorney. No legal documents can be printed from this website - please visit the Schriever Legal office to obtain your document. Only Air Force legal offices have access to the data you enter here, and the data you enter is deleted after 90 days. Please bring your ticket number with you. 50 SCS modifies customer service hours
Due to manpower requirements in preparation for the upcoming Schriever Command Cyber Readiness Inspection, the 50th Space Communications Squadron must modify customer service hours for SIPR Token/Local Register Authority (SIPR Token issuance, PIN resets, and others). Until Feb. 14, customers should use the following locations and times: 8-10 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Building 301, Room 120; 2:30-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday at Building 400, MOD 3 and 4. Questions concerning this change may be directed to the 50 SCS focal point at 567-6517/6518.

Chapel sponsors free marriage retreat
Get away for this great weekend retreat Feb. 14-16 at Denver's Hilton Garden Inn. The retreat includes two-night stay, all meals (except Saturday date night), marriage workshops and childcare during workshops and date night. You do maintenance on your car, home, computer and others, why not your marriage? The event is sponsored by the Schriever Chapel and hosted by the Colorado Healthy Marriage Project. It is open to all military members and their dependents. The deadline to register is Feb. 3. Call the chapel at 567-3705 to sign up.

Lost and found: T25 Exercise DVD
If you found an exercise DVD with T25 (Core Speed), please return it to Chaplain (Capt.) Amber Kiesel. It is a set of 12 other DVDs. Please drop it off at the fitness center front desk or the Chapel office in Building 300 Room 149. No questions asked.
