SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- AFA hosts 2014 Air Force Ball
The 2014 Air Force Ball will take place 6-11:30 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Broadmoor Hotel. To purchase tickets, visit Air Force Association website at www.afasijan.com. For additional information and the menu, click on "More Info / Menu" link on the website. The Broadmoor is also offering rooms at $145 for those attending the ball. Ticket sales close Feb. 5. Power outage affects Buildings 200, 420
There is a scheduled power outage 8-10 a.m. Jan. 26 that will affect Building 200 and 420. During this time, the North Portal will be unavailable.

Reduce stress by improving sleep
Are you waking up tired? Feeling unrefreshed or unrested? Having difficulties falling or staying asleep at night? Want a better night of sleep? Nationally, one-third of the population experiences occasional sleep problems yet only 10 percent of sleep problems are caused from medical conditions. The remainders of sleep problems are caused by things we can control. Come to the sleep enhancement class noon to 1 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Airman and Family Readiness Center classroom to find out how you can get a better night's sleep. Seeking Falcon vanpool riders
Space is available for a vanpool that originates from Falcon Wal-Mart (Woodmen and Meridian Market View Road). The van departs 6:25 a.m. weekdays and arrives at Schriever AFB 6:55 a.m. At the end of the duty day, the van departs Schriever AFB at 4:10 p.m. and arrives at Falcon Wal-Mart 4:40 p.m. Drop off and pickup points on Schriever AFB may vary. Represent in USA vs. Canada ball hockey tournament
Sign up to represent Team USA in a USA vs. Canada ball hockey tournament 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Peterson Air Force Base Roller Hockey Rink, behind fitness center. Airmen may sign up for junior Airmen (E-1 to E-6), junior leadership (E-7 to O-3) and senior leadership (O-4 and above). Grant provides child support assistance to service members
A federal grant for Colorado will assist service members with child support and related issues. El Paso County Child Support Services will provide assistance to parents provided at least one parent is active duty. A representative will be at Schriever AFB 1-3 p.m. Jan. 27at the 50th Space Wing Legal Office to assist service members and their families. Legal assistance website saves time
You may fill out an online worksheet prior to your visit to the legal office for expedited service. Worksheet topics include wills, advance medical directives, and powers of attorney. No legal documents can be printed from this website - please visit the Schriever Legal office to obtain your document. Only Air Force legal offices have access to the data you enter here, and the data you enter is deleted after 90 days. Please bring your ticket number with you. Legal office personnel will not be able to to access your worksheet without the ticket number. Visit https://aflegalassistance.law.af.mil for more information.

New vanpool forms in south Denver
Take advantage of mass transportation vouchers (military and government civil service). A new vanpool is operating serving the southern Denver area. The route runs along I-25 starting from the Exit 193 area with stops at the Castle Pines, Castle Rock, Monument, Woodmen/I-25 PnR and Walmart (East Woodmen) as determined by the riders who sign up. Final destination is Schriever AFB with arrival times no later than 7:30 a.m. Monday-Friday. Call 721-8094 or 359-0343 for more information.

Get your annual awards tickets
The 50th Space Wing is hosting its annual awards ceremony 5:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Peterson Air Force Base club. Attire is mess dress or semi-formal for military and suit and tie or semi-formal for civilian. Price is $28. To buy tickets, contact your unit sales representatives:
