SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Thank the first sergeant
Have we thanked our first sergeant today? If we haven't, we should. We should not only do it today but we should do it every time we run into them. Come rain or shine, hell or high water, our first sergeants work long and irregular hours caring for our welfare and that of the unit. There is little sleep in the life of our first sergeants.
Our first sergeants are accountable for responding to the needs of unit members 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our first sergeants are professionals, demonstrating the highest qualities of Air Force senior NCOs. They are perceptive, credible and live the core values of our United States Air Force. Our first sergeants not only ensure disciple is equitably maintained but they also look after the morale, welfare, and health needs of unit personnel. Our first sergeants carry out their responsibilities with initiative, innovation and character.
But most importantly, our first sergeants are people too. Who doesn't like to receive a thank you for a job well done? Make them smile, say thanks.
