SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo -- Force Management Programs...Get Informed

Have you heard the old adage, "The only thing that is constant is change?" Looking back on 2013, we certainly experienced our share. From dwindling budgets to civilian furloughs, we saw the gamut of challenges presented to us. But as Chief Master Sgt. Lavon Coles, 50th Space Wing command chief, summed it up best, it was with "perseverance, persistence, determination and grit" that we supported each other and ensured the mission never missed a beat.

Well 2014 is finally upon us, and no sooner have we crossed into the New Year that change is once again on the horizon. As you may or may not have read, the Air Force has been placed in a difficult financial position, and fiscal 2014 Force Management Programs will need to be implemented. Do you know the programs which affect you or your Airmen? Have you taken the time to visit myPers to read the latest Personnel Services Delivery Memorandum? If you don't know what I'm talking about, then I encourage you to get informed.

Information is power, but only if you use it. Whether you are enlisted or officer, new to the Air Force or on the verge of retirement, there is a good chance that at least one program will impact you or your Airmen. Our Air Force senior leaders have made it a point to ensure the most relevant information is available and timely, so I implore you to read it...understand it...ask questions...and to share what you've learned.

From RIFs to retirements, and everywhere in between, there are a number of changes ahead of us in 2014. So login, get reading, and get informed.
