Environmental Management System update

Have you ever been asked about Environmental Management System and not known what it was or why it is important? An EMS is used to integrate environmental issues into Schriever's overall management processes. Using an EMS enables us to control the impact of our activities on our environment and proactively manage future issues that might impact mission sustainability. Air Force Reserve In-Service Recruiting: Palace Front or Palace Chase

Palace Chase and Palace Front briefings are held each Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Building 26 (310 SW/HQ), suite 106 (subject to change if TDY). If you are interested in information about the Air Force Reserve Palace Front or Palace Chase Programs, please contact your Air Force Reserve In-Service Recruiter; Master Sgt. Matthew Laney at 719-567-4494 or DSN: 560-4494. He is located in the 310th Space Wing HQ, Building 26, Suite 144. This building is outside the RA next to the Irwin Road gate entrance.

Child Development Center

The CDC will be starting a Part Day Enrichment Program. The Part Day Enrichment Program is for children ages 3-5 whose parents do not need full-day care, but would like their children to participate in an early childhood program. The curriculum will focus on all areas of development to include creative, physical, social, and cognitive development. The program will run Monday - Thursday with the option of an AM or PM class. Registration begins on Monday Dec. 16 at 8:30 a.m. Space is limited, and slots will be filled on a first come first serve basis. For more info contact the CDC at 567-4742.

Grant to provide child support assistance to service members

A new federal grant for Colorado will assist service members with child support and related issues. El Paso County Child Support Services will provide assistance to parents provided at least one parent is active duty. A representative will be at Schriever AFB on 30 DEC 13, 1-3 p.m. at the 50th Space Wing Legal Office to assist service members and their families. Schriever Express holiday hours

The Schriever Express will be open the following dates and times:

Dec. 20 - 21: 6 a.m. - 7 p.m., Dec. 22-24: 12 p.m. - 4 p.m., Dec. 25: Closed, Dec. 26-31: 12 p.m. - 4 p.m., Jan. 1: Closed, Jan. 2-3: 6 a.m. - 7 p.m., Jan. 4: 6 a.m. - 4 p.m., and Jan. 5: 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Ensure Voting Records are Current for 2014 Elections

2014 is a general election year in the United States with 435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives, about one-third of the U.S. Senate, and many state, county, and local elections scheduled. Now is the time to ensure that your voter registration is current and your absentee ballot preferences are known to your county election officials. Your Unit Voting Assistance Officer is available to assist you in completing the necessary forms. You can find on-line help at www.fvap.gov and on the Schriever AFB website at http://www.schriever.af.mil. Look for the Voting Assistance Program link.
