On Nov. 1, 1968, the 496th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron joined the 50th Tactical Fighter Wing. What airframes did the unit bring? The 496th brought the F-102 Delta Dagger to the wing. The unit converted to the F-4 in 1970 and upgraded to the E model in 1976-1977.
