Schriever community stays vigilant 
Neighborhood Watch is a residents' program with Security Forces for a safer community.  It's not just a program to report suspicious activities and crime, but a program designed to confront and resolve safety problems within the neighborhood.  Neighborhood Watch is based on neighbors caring about neighbors.  If you currently reside in Tierra Vista Community, come join us at the community center today, May 4, at 5 p.m. for our Neighborhood Watch meeting.

Chapel office offers RESt 
Limited spots are available for the chapel-sponsored Financial Religious Education Stewardship program. This nine-week class will be held 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. every Thursday, starting May 5, at the Peterson Air Force Base chapel in Rooms 10 and 11. To sign up, contact your Schriever chapel at 567-3705.


Schriever housing offers family Christian fellowship 
A family Bible study is held at the Tierra Vista Community Center 6:30-8 p.m. every Wednesday. Come join for inspiring worship, Bible study and prayer. Families are welcome. Childcare and separate kids' activities for 10 and under provided. For more info, call 567-3705.

TVCC holds women's Bible study 
A women's Bible study is held at the Tierra Vista Community Center 9:30-11 a.m. every Tuesday. There will be fellowship and conversations about today's critical issues from a Christian perspective. For more information, call the chapel at 567-3705.

Off Base

Help needed at Ellicott Field Days
Ellicott Elementary will be hosting Field Days from 8:30 a.m. to noon May 23-25 and is in need of volunteers. May 23 will be K-1st grade, May 24 will be 2nd and 3rd grade, and May 25 will be 4th and 5th grade. Additionally, in the case of bad weather, the times and days will be noon to 3:30 p.m. May 23-26. If interested in volunteering, contact Public Affairs at 567-5040.

Military Retirees Activities Office holds monthly luncheon 
The Military Retiree Activities office holds a luncheon at noon the second Thursday of each month at the Peterson Air Force Base club, followed by its monthly council meeting at 2:30 p.m. in Building 350, Room 1206. The guest speaker for May 12 will be Hernando Pena who will talk about the Veteran Resources Initiative. Call 719-556-7153 for more information.

Society opens door to military widows 
The Society of Military Widows is open to widows of any branch of military service, regardless of the spouse's rank. The Pikes Peak Chapter 15 of the Society of Military Widows meets the last Wednesday of the month at 10:30 a.m. at the Peterson Air Force Base club. Wing holds Warfit Run
The 50th Space Wing holds the monthly Warfit Run 3 p.m. May 11 at the Schriever Fitness Center. Uniform for all military members is the Air Force physical training uniform. Unit morale shirts are authorized unless otherwise directed.

IG Office releases April SWIG newsletter
The 50th Space Wing Inspector General office released the April newsletter. Topics include leading people, Major Graded Areas, functional area managers program, Innovators of the Month and upcoming inspections. The newsletter can be found here:

Crime Prevention Tip
Talk with children about internet safety when they begin to use a computer on their own or get their own mobile device. Discuss how they should protect personal information on the internet and if they ever come across anything that makes them uncomfortable, they should tell an adult immediately.
