General Information: Applications are accepted on a continual basis for all positions. The position does not need to be open for you to apply. See the "Apply With Us" tab below for instructions on how to send us a copy of your application.

Current NAF Employees: If you currently hold a NAF position, you may apply for a position at any time by submitting an Air Force Form 2550, "NAF Application for Promotion or other Position Change." This application will stay on file as long as you are a NAF employee. You may hold two positions in NAF, Army-Air Force Exchange Service or appropriated funds as long as you do not work more than 40 hours per week between the two jobs.

Military Spouse Preference: In order to claim military spouse preference, attach a signed statement of understanding and a copy of your permanent-change-of-station orders to each application.

Transition Hiring Preference: Show your THP card and attach a signed statement to your application.

Family Member Preference: To claim family member preference, attach a signed statement of understanding to each application.

Off-duty Military: To apply for off-duty employment, attach a completed Air Force Form 3902, "Application and Approval for Off-Duty Employment," to your application.

Veteran's Preference: Provide one copy of your Department of Defense Form 214, "Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty," member-4 copy, with each application.

Wage and Pay Schedules

The NAF System consists of 3 different pay schedules: Crafts and Trades (NA, NL, NS); NAF Pay Band (NF) and Child and Youth (CY). 

Crafts and Trades (CT) wage schedules are set at a given amount and the employee must complete both time and shifts in the position to receive a step increase. 

The pay band (NF) schedule has a range of pay with a minimum and maximum rate, and the amount of pay for the position can fall anywhere between the band. 

The CY pay schedule is based upon the GS pay schedule and also has a range of pay with a minimum and maximum rate. CY-01/02 minimum pay is a set at the GS-04 step 1 pay and the maximum is at the GS-05 step 10 pay. The information in the "NAF Hourly Rates" tab will give you an idea of the pay rates at Schriever AFB.
